The points totals for the 2013 Northern Indiana Summer Series have been updated following the Greater Lafayette Open. The next event in the series will take place on May 18th and 19th at the Indiana State Championships in Valparaiso.
In observance of Mothers Day the Boondocks Spring Bloomin’ Tournament scheduled for Sunday, May 12th, has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 25th. The calendar has been updated with the new date. Take your mom disc golfing this Sunday!!
The IDGC’s Monday Night Random Draw Doubles will begin play on Monday, May 6th, at Northwestway Park. Tee time is 6:00pm. The league has moved to Northwestway because of the temporary closing of Sahm Park. For more information see the Leagues page.
May 1st is the first day of the Washington Park Handicap League. Play starts at 6:00 sharp. Check out the Leagues page for full details.
The points totals for the 4th Annual Muncie Open have been posted to the 2013 Northern Indiana Summer Series page. Round 2 of the NISS will take place on May 4th and 5th at the Greater Lafayette Open… check back here after each event to see where you stand.
The Mohawk Match Play Tournament was held this past Sunday. There was a very competitive field of 19 players. Jim Trueblood advanced throught the Winners bracket to face James Collins, who battled his way through the Losers bracket, in the finals. Collins won the first match 4-3, but Trueblood bounced back to take the championship by winning the final match 4-3.
The next meeting of the Indianapolis Disc Golf Club will be Thursday, April 18th at 7:00. The meeting will be held at the Brookside Park Community Center. All members are encouraged to attend.
Long time IDGC member Dave Paschal (#145) passed away this week in Georgia after a long battle with cancer. He was one of the few Senior Grand Masters in the club. He was a great guy, who never had a harsh word for anyone, and he loved to play disc golf. His funeral, unfortunately, will be in Georgia so please remember Dave while you play this weekend.
The first round of the 2013 March Monster is in the books. Lefty Brad VanOverloop is the current leader of the Open class after tossing a -7 between Northwestway and Brookside. The Monster concludes this weekend with the first round at Washington Park and the final round at Mohawk Compound.
