Mohawk Invitational Results

Fifty-six players braved Sunday’s monsoon-like conditions to attend the 2013 Mohawk Invitational… thanks to everyone who attended what was a long, very wet, but otherwise fun event.  The final results can be viewed here, and the 2013 Indiana Fall Series standings have also been updated.

We have also received totals and some of the round scores for the Hidden Lake Fall Classic and the Iron Horse Open and have updated those results pages as well.

The next round of the IFS takes place in two weeks on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Lions Club Park in Yorktown.

2013 Indiana Fall Series Update

We have (finally) received the results for the first two Indiana Fall Series events, the Hidden Lake Fall Classic and the Iron Horse Open.  Unfortunately we were not able to get the actual scores, just the standings, but hopefully that will change going forward.

The series standings for the 2013 Indiana Fall Series have been tallied after two events, and you will probably notice that the points allocations have changed from what they would have been in the past.  We are testing a new set of rules for the points standings in hopes that it will reduce the discrepancy between the number of entries at each event.  The new rules are summarized as follows:

1. The winner of each class always receives 50 points regardless of the number of entrants.

2. Two points are subtracted for each subsequent position.  So, for example, second place gets 48 points, third gets 46 points, and so on.

3. In the event of a tie, all players will receive the same points total.  This is the same as it has been in the past.  However, under the new rules the next player in the standings following the tie will no longer have a points “skip” down to his or her position.  For example, if two players tie for second place, they will both receive 48 points.  The next player, who technically finished in fourth place, will receive 46 points instead of 44 points as he/she would have previously.

As stated earlier, this new points system is being run as a test.  It will be determined at the end of the fall series whether or not it should be used in any subsequent series.  If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email.  And as always, if you notice any errors or misspellings in the tournament results, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Round 3 of the 2013 Indiana Fall Series takes place this Sunday at the Mohawk Compound.  See you there!

Washington Park Basket Upgrade to Begin September 12th

Beginning Thursday, September 12th the baskets on the front nine at Washington Park will be upgraded to brand new Spider Web 3 baskets.  The baskets are being donated to the park by the Indianapolis Disc Golf Club.  Funds for the baskets were raised through various fundraiseres over the last 18 months.  Special IDGC thanks go to Artyom Pikus for his contributions to the project and to Bill Coughlin for his generous donation.
